Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area Added 4312 New Enterprises Last Year

The construction of free trade zones and the promotion of high-quality economic development cannot be separated from the participation of business entities. Last year, our city successively launched a series of policy measures with “high value”, continuously optimized the business environment, and increased support in taxation, finance and other aspects. The number of enterprises grew rapidly. According to statistics from the municipal market supervision department, a total of 4312 new enterprises were established in the Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area in 2023, with a newly registered capital of 34.6 billion yuan for domestic enterprises. Among them, there are 2964 new enterprises established in the Development Zone Area and 1348 new enterprises established in Lianyun Area. The number of newly established enterprises in the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area accounts for 12.22% of the total number of newly established enterprises in the city, an increase of 26.41% compared to the same period in 2022.

A good business environment is an important factor in attracting enterprises to land and deepen their development. Recently, Ms. Liu, from the Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area, successfully obtained the business licenses for her two newly opened business outlets in Haizhou from the District Government Service Center. “It’s so convenient that I can avoid detours.” Ms. Liu said, “This convenience and efficiency have surprised us.” This is one of the conveniences brought to enterprises by the cross regional “one certificate, multiple addresses” policy implemented in the Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area.

Optimizing the business environment has always been an important task in the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area. Since 2021, the Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area has been on the path of continuously deepening the reform of the commercial system and effectively promoting the rapid development of its business entities, from the issuance of the first business license in the province to be ed and registered through a full intelligent approval process without manual intervention, to the replication and promotion of new practice cases in the province’s free trade zone last year. Plus, the citywide policies, tax incentives, financial support, and other measures have effectively boosted market confidence and stimulated market vitality. Under the continuous fermentation of policy effects, the development of the operating entities in the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area has shown a notably increasing trend.

Statistics show that last year, a total of 4312 new enterprises were established in the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area. From the perspective of industry categories, there are a total of 1769 newly established enterprises in the wholesale and retail industry, 639 in the construction industry, 628 in the leasing and business services industry, and 506 in the scientific research and technology services industry. These four major industries account for 82.14% of the total number of newly established enterprises, reflecting the development potential of the area in multiple industrial fields; compared with 2022, the industries with higher increment in newly established enterprises are 501 in wholesale and retail, 123 in construction, 72 in information transmission, software and information technology services, and 71 in scientific research and technology services. This fully indicates that under the background of favorable policies, both traditional and emerging industries have shown strong development momentum. As of the end of 2023, the total number of enterprises in the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lianyungang Area has exceeded 13000, accounting for 7.1% of the total number of enterprises in the city, an increase of 10 times from the time of its unveiling in August 2019, fully demonstrating the strong attraction of the Free Trade Zone area in attracting enterprises to settle in.
