Lianyungang Port takes multiple measures to accurately promote the development, and the container volume of China-Europe Railway Express in the first quarter increased by 40% year-on-year

Yesterday, the author learned from Lianyungang Port that in the first quarter of this year, the cumulative number of standard containers sent by the China-Europe Railway Express in Lianyungang increased by 40.1% year-on-year. Among them, the volume of goods entering and leaving the warehouse of the China-Kazakhstan Logistics Company increased by 21.18% year-on-year, and the cumulative number of arrivals and departures of the China-Europe Railway Express increased by 32.81%, achieving a good start in the first quarter.

Since the beginning of this year, Lianyungang Port has taken multiple measures to maintain the stable operation of trains and promote the improvement of the quality and efficiency of the train operation. Focusing on ensuring the stability of the transport capacity of the train, Lianyungang Port has continuously overcome difficulties and actively developed and cultivated key project cargo sources. Through visiting customers, holding international logistics service promotion meetings and other forms, it has newly developed customers such as Modern, General Electric, and LG for single-product and single-destination cargo, while stabilizing the export product markets for grinding balls and photovoltaics. In terms of return cargo sources, it has newly developed new cargo types such as asbestos, wheat bran particles, barley from Central Asia, and carbon black and aluminum ingots from Russia. Currently, there are 20 types of return cargo.

As the first physical platform project for international economic and trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Lianyungang China-Kazakhstan Logistics Cooperation Base has transformed from a small yard without railway lines to a land-sea intermodal transportation center. In the digital dispatching center of the base, a huge screen displays various logistics data in real time. "It is through this large screen that Lianyungang, located at the eastern seaport, has achieved information sharing and business linkage with the Khorgos-East Gate Dry Port thousands of miles away. Both China and Kazakhstan can timely understand the dispatch data, station operation, and real-time movements of goods through the interconnected system." said Pang, an administrative affairs administrator of China-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company.

In recent years, Lianyungang International Railway Express has actively explored and innovated in business models, successfully launching a series of advanced transportation modes such as container sea-rail-air multimodal transportation. Meanwhile, taking full advantage of the policy benefits of the free trade zone, it has implemented innovative models such as the "bonded + export" mixed consolidation business, achieved efficient "ship-to-truck" direct loading with zero waiting time, and carried out the "full multimodal transportation of Kazakh wheat" and the "container to bulk" transshipment of potassium fertilizer from Central Asia. These measures have not only improved operational efficiency but also significantly reduced the time goods spend at the port. With the establishment of the "double hub" status of the New Eurasian Land Bridge, Lianyungang China-Europe Train has gradually developed into an indispensable backbone of international logistics transportation on the New Silk Road.

In addition, the distinctive advantages of the freight trains continue to expand. The direct "Lianyungang-Tashkent" freight train achieves stable operation with five trips per month. The relay freight train from "Yancheng-Lianyungang-Central Asia" has been opened, mainly carrying auto parts from Yancheng Yueda Kia. The JSQ cage car, which mainly serves car companies such as Mitsubishi, Toyota, and Nissan, has accumulated 170 trips. The organization level of the freight trains has been further improved, giving priority to transit trains around unloading, entering, and dispatching. The developed transit cargo supervision system achieves real-time supervision. The joint application of innovative free trade cases such as "ship-to-truck direct loading" with zero waiting time and electronic review of international freight train documents further improves the efficiency of logistics and transportation.
